Caveman in Flower Mound, TX
Race Type: Triathlon
Entry Fee: $69
It’s all things you want out of a race. organized, on time, spectator friendly, and fast. Plus, I can walk to transition from my front door. :p
Snake swim through the CAC pool. Make sure to give an accurate time or not. You will be swimming over/under people. Practice flip turns so you can pass them at the wall. 🙂
2 loops down a mostly unused warehouse district. We had a police chase a car through the race for a short part of my second loop. Your spectators can watch you swim then scoot over to watch you loop through the 2 bike loops. They just have to turn around to see you run by just after transition.
I loved the run. You run through the park and there’s a good hill to go up and down. It’s an out and back course with a well placed water station.
No one can control this. The night before we had a really bad storm with high wind, hail, and heavy rain. There was some debre along the course. DAR could have cleared the big branches that I jumped over on the run. There were also a lot of wet leaves all over the bike course that made it more challenging and some big puddles of very cold water.
Was the weather normal? No

About the SWAG:
I like the socks. The shirt was just meh. They give out rocks if you place in your division. They stand out in your awards box.
Spectator Friendliness Rating: 4
If you pay attention to the course before you get there it’s easy to see everything you want. And there was plenty of cheering along the course.
