It’s one of the more interesting and inspirational stories I have seen in a while. Derek has a benign tumor on his pituitary gland that gives him some significant health problems including a lack of testosterone production contributing to weight gain. He’s now taking medication to shrink that tumor, helping him manage his condition more effectively. He’s also started testosterone replacement therapy.

At age 34, with the support of his mother, sister and the rest of his family and close friends, Derek set out to get himself healthy. To do so, he committed to completing a 5K race every month of 2015 starting in March. He just completed one in his home town of Kansas City, MO less than a month ago.

Derek’s social media reach has grown exponentially. He is highly motivated to succeed and has a great support system around him. He is eager to influence others to start their own journeys to health. He’s clearly a gentle man with a kind heart, as you’ll hear in this podcast. We hope you enjoy it.
